Love is blind. In fact, it is so blind that it has amused the world with its magic. Taj Mahal is one of the few magical creations of that unfaltering love for a woman whom a man loved with his heart, mind, body, and soul. His love was so pure, that he built this magical monument for the humankind to bask in the glory of his love that he experienced ages back.

Indeed, today Taj Mahal is known as apostle of love and is known to the humankind one of the most revered monuments. Recently the same monument has entered in the list of Seven Wonders of the World. There is no doubt that Taj Mahal falls in the category of the most beautiful buildings of the world. Built in 1631 by the emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz, it stands as one of the most sought after monuments from cultural heritage point of view.

This tomb is among the hundreds of beautiful buildings that Shah Jahan built. From architectural point of view, these buildings have been known to enthrall us as perfect buildings in every sense. As far as designing is concerned, there were three artists who designed it. To be precise, one was a Persian, another Italian, and the third one was a Frenchman. However, the design is simply on the lines of Mughal architecture. One of the reasons may be that the artisans who built it were brought in from Baghdad, Constantinople, and other centers of the Muslim faith.

The uniqueness of Taj Mahal lies in its existence. The moment one passes through a high wall, one comes suddenly upon the Taj – highly raised marble platform, framed on either side by handsome mosques and stately minarets. There is no dearth of beautiful and awe-inspiring gardens enclosing a pool, which is simply delightful to watch. As every portion of the structure is of white marble, it depicts purity and suaveness from its every nook and corner. There are precious metals, costly stones, and fine workmanship all over the building. There are twelve sides as far as buildings are concerned. A slender minaret rises at each corner, thus giving it a beautiful arrangement. It has a roof, which is just amazing with a massive spiral design dome.
