Ajmer

Experience Ajmer, the bustling town with calm waters in its vicinities, engulfed by spiky, blue shadowed hills. Although, Ajmer is being preferred after Pushkar, it is one of the vital pilgrimages of India, which attracts people from all over involving every religious and geographical quarter. People believe in something extraordinary as they step on this holy land. The pertinent reason is that it has the most fascinating shrine of Khwaja-Muin-ud-din-Chishti. As the place is highly valued from spiritual point of view, it enables you to explore the mysticism ingrained in the Indian soil and rationally analyze the Indian tradition, especially the Sufi undercurrents. Ajmer exactly lies 130 km south west of Jaipur and was once the favorite cities of Mighty Mughals and British Empire.

Ajmer is particularly known for its picturesque and captivating Dargah, which makes you interact with the Indian cosmopolitan values and culture. Undoubtedly, Ajmer is among those few destinations, which falls in the category of perfect destinations. As Rajasthan is the land mighty kings, Ajmer represents their lives in its entirety.

Visiting Ajmer and exploring its major attractions is just like ‘wandering in the Alice land’ where every step evokes mysticism and passion. The noteworthy feature of this place is its people in whom you can experience highest standards of hospitality, generosity, and suaveness. As far as transportation in this city is concerned, there is no dearth. That is what makes you see each and every detail of this city with élan.

Places of Tourist Interest

Main attractions in Ajmer are Ana Sagar, Dargah, and Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpara & Taragarh. Ana Sagar is a large lake, came into existence in the 12th century by damming the River Luni. There are two delightful parks – Daulat Bagh and Subhash Bagh. Then comes the Dargah, which was completed by Humayun. Even one of the greatest Mughal rulers, Akbar used to visit the Dargah every year to be bestowed with saintly wishes. Just beyond the Dargah, there are extraordinary ruins of the Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpara (Two-and-a-half-days) mosque. There’s Akbar’s palace on the charts too.
